Position Summary
This is a full-time academic post in the School of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine. Applicants should have an honours primary degree in Agricultural Economics, Food and Agribusiness Management, Agribusiness and Rural Development, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration or related discipline. The position involves undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, research and administration.
The successful applicant will deliver a number of academic modules either in full or in coordination with other staff members, in addition to research appropriate to the objectives of the Agribusiness and Rural Development Section of the School. The Agribusiness and Rural Development Section delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes in Food and Agribusiness Management, Rural Development and Humanitarian Action.
Salary: €35,355- €81,452pa
Appointment on scale will be made commensurate with qualification and experience.

Technologist – Agricultural Catchments Programme (Ref: TE/ACP/0810)
Reporting to: Principal Scientist
Grade/Salary: Technologist Grade 1. The current salary range is €35,254 to €62,701 with a starting salary of €35,254 to €47,731 depending on relevant qualifications and experience.
Post Type: Appointment will be made on a contract basis for an indicative period of up to 16 months. A panel may be formed from which future technologist vacancies may be filled.
Basic Function:To manage the principle Agricultural Catchments Programme (ACP) water quality data stream at six sites by ensuring the efficient and effective running of field and laboratory protocols and especially with regard to analytical field equipment, monitoring Laboratory Information System (LIMS) protocols and facilitating data quality control protocols with the Programme team prior to final data storage.

Essential: Level 8 degree in analytical chemistry or equivalent or other relevant discipline.
Desirable: Third level qualification in laboratory management or equivalent
