Congratulations!

Congratulations to Paul Keogh, Gorey, Co Wexford, FBD Young Farmer of the Year.2010. Mattie Moore, Rhodes, Co Offaly second place winner and John Joyce, Nenagh, Co Tipperary third place winner.

Brothers, Tim and John Kirby, who farm in Duagh, Co Kerry won the prestigious Baileys Irish Cow Championship for the second successive year at the Virginia Show in Co Cavan.  It was a spectacular triumph for the Kirbys and their award winning seven-year–old Holstein Friesian cow Semarlaview Storm Vixan.

The Kirbys also won the title with same cow three years ago and with a different animal last year, Smearlaview, Forbidden Vixan.

The reserve champion was won by Mervyn and Philip Jones, Killowen, Gorey, Co Wexford, with Croagh Fran 26.

To the group of over 100 farmers behind the Truly Irish Brand who are celebrating success at the Great Taste Awards. This week, their rashers and puddings beat off strong competition to scoop four gold medals.

Congratulations to all the various prize winners at the recent Summer Shows-Bandon,Clonakilty,Midleton,Macroom,Cork,Charleville,Clonmel,Newcastlewest, Tipperary,Tullamore and Limerick.
